Nonetheless, when we thought that AI could never compete with us humans in the creative realm - an aspect that we reclaim as an only human capability - we see how ChatGPT is capable of writing an entire article by just giving it some presets and even if AI could have written this very own article.

But is there any light at the end of the tunnel? Are we doomed to robotic domination?

We always try to look at the good part of every situation here, and AI job replacements are no exception.

It looks like life is an endless cycle where events repeat similarly but with augmented capabilities. And just as the industrial revolution eliminated some jobs, it also created a tone for them.

If you close the cycle, you may be expecting that AI will also create tons of them, and this is a fact, as the same World Economic Forum Future of Jobs Report shows that this technology will also create 97 million jobs.

  • Legal services: Lawyer Andrew Perlman used ChatGPT to publish a
    14-page legal paper published in Social Science Research Network in which he explained to the Supreme Court's decision on same-sex marriage shouldn't be appealed and developed deposition questions. 
    In an interview with Reuters, the lawyer says that AI can make advice more accessible, and this becomes even more important when we take into account that Low-income Americans don't get enough or any legal help for 92% of their civil legal problems, 
    according to a 2022 report by Legal Services Corp.

Now, we want to throw some light on jobs that could be safe from AI's control soon, and according to the same article, these business areas are:

  • Manufacturing and factory workers: This sector is already quite familiar with automation, and we see it in the cases of companies such as General Motors. Still, Elon Musk plans to advance this with the Tesla Bot, or Optimus, an autonomous android made to replace humans in dangerous, repetitive jobs. According to an 
    MIT and Boston University report, AI is expected to return as many as two million manufacturing workers by 2025. "Our evidence shows that robots increase productivity," the researchers said.
  • Agriculture: 
    The U.S. Department of Agriculture showed in 2021 that this sector made up 10.5% of the labor force, having 21.1 million full and part-time jobs. Meanwhile, The Washington Post informed that, regardless of these numbers, small farms don't produce enough profit to invest in machinery. However, big farms already started an automation process for everyday tasks. Due to these aspects, the National Institute of Food and Agriculture does 
    fund AI research, education and extension activities in natural resources and environments, agricultural systems and engineering, economics, and rural communities.
  • Psychologists: A study by 
    the International Journal of Health Services found that psychiatrists spend 20.3% of their day on paperwork, followed by internists and general practitioners at 17.3%. And while these repetitive tasks can be automated, patients still need psychiatrists who understand their feelings. As David Dranove, a professor at Northwestern University's Kellogg School of Management, 
    said, most people want to hear about their health from a human, and there's "a need for compassion…that AI cannot contribute. The failed experiment of

The AI trainers are the professionals in charge of the machines being able to react according to the characteristics of the company to which they will be assigned. We see this exemplified in chatbots, programs designed to solve the majority of user questions according to company guidelines.

It is good to note that AI will reduce a large part of the jobs in the health sector, but in the same way, it will create thousands. The new analysis of the PWC explains that although the growth of AI in the next 20 years could eliminate up to around 7 million existing jobs, it will create about 7.2 million.
