When we are away from our screens, we like to read; and we like to read about what else than Digital Marketing.
We, of course, enjoyed the dystopian The Testaments by Margaret Atwood (the sequel to The Handmaid’s Tale), but our hearts belong to Digital Marketing books, as we want to stay constantly informed and follow the latest updates.
So, our team made a list of our Top 10, relatively new, Digital Marketing Books to add to your 2020 Reading list.
1) Digital Marketing: Strategic Planning & Integration
This book got on our list unanimously. It is a book for marketing academics, students, and professionals. With the author, Annemarie Hanlon, being both a professional digital marketer since 1990 and an educator, a Senior Lecturer at the University of Derby, there is a balanced combination of academic and practical. In its pages, it covers all aspects of Digital Marketing planning and provides you with a wide range of tools to implement in your digital marketing strategy. Its content is supported by real-life examples, but the cherry on top is the complementary online resources, such as PowerPoint slides, exercises, and activities for each chapter, planning documents, etc.

2) Faster, Smarter, Louder: Master Attention in a Noisy Digital Market
Neil Patel has said about this book: "I've created four multimillion-dollar companies in my career by building my own personal brand, leveraging that to see growth in the companies I create, and then implementing many of these same strategies for my companies as well.
This book shows you many of the steps I've personally taken in order to continue to grow my brand and many of the steps I still undertake to this day."
This Digital Marketing book is special because Gián Clancey and Aaron Agius have achieved something wonderful; they made Digital Marketing approachable and understandable as it relates to behavioral research and social sciences. They explain the WHY, not just the how behind the successful strategies and campaigns.

3) Digital Marketing Strategy: An Integrated Approach to Online Marketing
This book, at first sight, might seem like a plain I-have-seen-it-before Digital Marketing guide book, but actually, it’s the perfect road for every marketer to streamline a digital marketing strategy for measurable, optimized results.
What makes it special is that it’s not a “one-size fits all” book as the author provides different tools, strategies, and theories, but he aims for the reader to pick one and implement it. So, that in a way makes it personal to each reader.

4) Becoming a Digital Baller the Playbook: Everything you need to know to get started in & excel in Digital Marketing
The author, Connor Wright, couldn’t make it easier! He uses sports analogies to teach the fundamentals of every aspect of Digital Marketing. He also introduces his concept, “FOI”, or Figure It Out. He insists on this because it is something you will have to do a lot in your digital market journey because what works for someone doesn’t mean it will work for you. You keep what you need to keep and you adjust everything else. So, if you're a sport’s fan, you will definitely find this book interesting and comprehensive.

6) InstaBrain: The New Rules for Marketing to Generation Z
While everyone focuses on marketing to Millennials (since more than half of them are active on social media and they make 40% of the workforce), Sarah Weise, founder and CEO of Bixa, a market research studio specializing in customer research and audience insights for the world’s most innovative brands, is one step ahead and studies Generation Z. Gen Zs are digital natives, which makes them a completely different market that needs completely different strategies to reach. Did you get nervous that you are missing out on a whole market? Fear not! InstaBrain is the Digital marketing Book that will guide you through this new “species”
7) Becoming A Digital Marketer: Gaining the Hard & Soft Skills for a Tech-Driven Marketing Career
This is one of the most informational Digital Marketing books we’ve read in a while. The authors, Gil Gildner and Anya Gildner, gathered all the world's resources on digital marketing, and then distilled that into only the most important methods. The book consists of two parts. In the first one, there are the crucial skills you need for a marketing career, like SEO, PPC, analytics, social media, and email marketing. In the second part, you learn soft skills, still crucial in business, like writing emails, starting your marketing agency, getting an entry-level position, working as a marketing freelancer, and how to work remotely.
8) Podcasting Marketing Strategy: A Complete Guide to Creating, Publishing and Monetizing a Successful Podcast
If you are not using or at least listening to, Podcasts, you must be living under a rock! But don’t worry, because this is exactly the book to get you started on it. Besides strategies and how you can drive better results, this book explains the reasons podcasting is effective and needed. Don’t sleep on a unique, high;y-persuasive channel.

9) Digital Marketing That Actually Works the Ultimate Guide: Discover Everything You Need to Build and Implement a Digital Marketing Strategy That Gets Results
You will find many Digital Marketing guides on the Internet, including our beginner's guide here, but not all of them are substantial. Well, this is not the case with that book (or our guide *shameless self-promotion*). It is undeniably suitable for marketeers, CEOs, executives, agencies, pretty much everyone, but what makes it stand out is that it’s also suitable for beginners. The author, Krista Neher, not only guides the reader to understand digital marketing but also how to execute it. And while the world of digital marketing is constantly changing, the basics of this book are timeless.

10) Jab, Jab, Jab, Right Hook: How to Tell Your Story in a Noisy Social World
Technically, this is not a new book, but it’s an all-time favorite and we couldn’t leave it out of the list. New York Times bestselling author and social media expert Gary Vaynerchuk has created the Social Media marketing strategy blueprint that is timeless in a constantly evolving, noisy digital marketing environment. Our favorite quote “You cannot win big in social media if you’re going to be afraid of emerging technology”.
