Welcome to issue #4 of Insights!, our bi-monthly blog series, which examines trends and insights related to digital marketing, advertising, and technology.

GenAI is my new go-to advisor for books!

As a all-time fan of books and an avid reader, I created a habit of reading a book about marketing every quarter. I prefer other genres, but I have to be updated, and learn different perspectives.

So last week I decided to grab my iPhone and take a photo of “is: unread & is: marketing” 🤓 part of the shelf. I then opened the OpenAI app, and asked my assistant to use the image to classify the books by relevance and add a brief description.

The result was quick (as it always is):

This was neat.

Not only does it save time searching for book reviews individually, but by adding context to our needs and goals, we can get personalized results.

The next time, I asked him to select, organize, and get recommendations based on mood, and using a wilder array of books.

Again, really cool.

It also made me think about how hardware and software are sometimes not intertwined from the end-user's point of view. I have had the same phone for four years, but before I had no solution to solve the same problem except to call different friends, supposedly book readers to cast me their reviews ( hell…. no)

How Reddit is becoming increasingly relevant

In a past edition, we highlighted the new ads launched by Reddit, where we saw that it expanded its ad offering, introducing lead generation ads and better search integration.

More broadly, and after July's Google, Reddit rose to fifth place in organic results in July 2024, with the fancy ability to index new posts faster than any other site. Allegedly, these features have been accelerated by the increasingly close partnership between both companies (e.g. the recent data licensing agreement to teach Google's AI platform.)

Therefore, it should be worth looking at this platform not only for its innovative ad formats and the unique attributes of the communities but also for the SEO opportunities it offers, as its role in search is gaining importance.

So,  how Reddit can fit into your digital marketing strategy?  Here’s three possibilities (but there are more)

  • Reach consumers in a different, more authentic way: Communities (aka subreddits) have very specific attributes, where it is possible to authentically reach very well-defined niches.

  • Explore how it can help your SEO: Reddit increasingly occupies a prominent position in Google searches. Participating intelligently (and creating value) in discussions or creating publications that link to our website are two valid options, when well implemented.

  • Differentiate and test your paid media approach: As mentioned before, Reddit ad formats are increasingly better in terms of targeting and format. And they can be successful at any stage of the funnel (for those who still work with funnels..).

Weekly Spotlight

We just completed redesigning the Pride Babies website, which offers fertility treatments for LGBTQIA+ women.

With an outdated design, our mission was to implement a more pragmatic and user-friendly UI/ UX.

The new back office architecture also allows the brand to easily manage blog updates and optimize SEO, all in a single place.

The result is a modern website, optimized for frequent updates by non-technical personnel, allowing the message to be conveyed effectively to the target audience.

The conclusion? A new website can make a difference! 🌈
